The Wellington Inn at Chances Pitch is one of the prime country eating pubs near Worcester. It is an ideal spot to visit after walking the Malvern Hills and offers a combination of traditional country pub with oak beams, log fires and local real ales in a warm and cosy atmosphere and quality dining in the restaurant. The food varies from freshly made sandwiches and snacks served in the lower bar area where dogs are welcome through to excellent home prepared pub favourites and more innovative dishes from the specials board. The chef comes from a high pedigree having been sous-chef at a Michelin starred establishment in the Cotswolds and produces everything in-house from bread through to chocolates with coffee. Ingredients are sourced locally and game features heavily in winter with Partridge, Pheasant, Venison and even Wild Boar from the Forest of Dean being found on the menu regularly. The proprietor Giles Goodhew comes from a catering family and has worked at the highest level of fine dining as well as in the wine trade for several years and also brewed beer commercially. His ethos is to offer a very high standard of quality at the best possible value in the comfort of a traditional old fashioned pub atmosphere.
