Our Chef Paul Haywood comes from a high culinary pedigree, gaining 3 AA rosettes in his previous role as Head Chef and prior to that was Sous Chef at Michelin Starred Lords of the Manor in the mid 90’s. Our aim is to offer a balance of snacks, traditional pub favourites and more gastronomic fair at great value. Everything is made on the premise from bread through to chocolates with coffee. Local ingredients are sourced where possible and winter brings a host of game including local Partridge, Pheasant, Rabbit, Hare, Venison and even Wild Boar from the Forest of Dean. The local area brings a wealth of fruit and vegetables to the pub which comes direct from source. We also harvest wild produce from the area like Damsons, Sloes and Wild Garlic.

Sandwiches are made fresh to order using French bread, garnished with salad and cheddar coleslaw at £5.95. A value two course weekday lunch at £7.95 supplements the main menu and specials board which usually has a choice of three starters, three main courses and three desserts. This will normally include a fish, meat and a vegetarian dish. Our main menu incorporates a choice of pub favourites like beer-battered fish and chunky chips and Herefordshire Blade of beef with butternut squash and sweet potato bubble & squeak. The specials board gives a platform to show off Pauls flair and features fresh fish of the day, local seasonal offerings and imaginative vegetarian dishes.
